Poppy meadow

We saw from the forecast that the best weather today would be this morning so, as soon as we could, Mr hazelh, Owen and I set off for a walk and a picnic. We didn't go very far - just to Duddingston and back - but on the way enjoyed the views and lots and lots of chat. We ate our picnic beneath Arthur's Seat just before it started to rain. On the way home again I blipped these poppies near the Scottish Parliament building.

This afternoon we introduced Owen to Settlers of Catan. We played two games. I won the first, and Mr hazelh the second. Then we settled down on the sofa to watch Six degrees of separation - an excellent film from the 1990s that none of us had ever seen before.

Owen is driving back to Otley this evening. Meanwhile Mr hazelh and I will enjoy a quiet night in.

Exercise today: walking (16,612 steps)
