Tradition................. And more rantings!

It has become a bit of a tradition in July that we meet up with the very lovely Nikki (alias Harebrain). See here and here and here and here. Today we met her at Perranporth and went for a little walk on the beach. Unfortunately doggies have to stay on their leads during July & August. But I still managed to do a bit of 'wallowing' and I could tell that Nikki was impressed with my hippo impersonation.

Then off we went to the Tywarnhayle Inn so that the humans could have lunch. Obviously I just lay sensibly under the table. Nikki thought I was a very well behaved little collie and said that Ann had brought me up proper. Yay!  And do you know what happened after lunch? Nikki said, 'Molly, would you like an ice cream?' There's a shop in Perranporth that makes delicious doggie ice cream. (See extras). I choose fillet steak flavour but unfortunately they only had chicken. But that was OK. Chicken ice cream is very, very tasty. Thank you sooooo much Nikki. We've had a lovely time and hope to see you next year. Xx

So now for the rants.............................. We have a lot of things to rant about today so feel free to stop reading this blip now. Ann likes to use Blip to document her life.

Rant 1

Ann is desperate to speak to my very lovely vet, Jonathan, re my lack of energy and the fact that the pills he prescribed me last Thursday aren't working. She phoned at 8.45am and was told he wasn't due in until 9am. She phoned at 9.15am and told he was out visiting big animals. She phoned at 3.30pm and was told he was out visiting big animals but receptionist said she'd leave him a message to phone us when he came back. He hasn't phoned us. And now it's almost 7pm.  Grrrrrrrr...........................

Rant 2

When we got home from seeing very lovely Blipper, Harebrain, we noticed a big dog poo in the communal courtyard. There are 12 properties in our complex but I am the only dog who lives here all the time. At least half of the properties are holiday/second homes and some of them allow dogs. The thing is....................... if people see dog poo in the courtyard, people are going to think it's mine. And it most definitely is NOT. Ann has picked up three lots of dog poo in the last few days........................ and she's not going to pick up any more. So what do you think she should do Blippers:

Send a ranty email to all the owners telling them that if they have visitors with dogs, they must pick up after them if they poo on our communal land. .................Though to be fair we've never had this problem before.
Put up a poster in the communal courtyard, from me maybe people might take more notice if they see my photo and think a dog is actually talking to them??? saying that I understand that when on holiday doggies get excited and sometimes poo in inappropriate places............................ but I don't want to get the blame so their owners MUST pick up?!!

Rant 3

We are desperate to refurbish our bathroom but finding someone to do it for us is an absolute nightmare. This has been an ongoing saga for almost a year. And actually is anyone interested? We've had three quotes – the latest being £12,500? OK, that did include replacing the hot water tank and moving it up into the loft. £12,500???? Ann says people just see 'single middle aged woman' and think they can tell her any old rubbish. The bathroom is about 6ft x 6ft so not exactly massive. We were thinking £2000 - £3000 tops. And all the bathroom shops seem to have permanent sales on so the actual bathroom stuff isn't that expensive. Anyway, we had another guy coming round to give us a quote tonight. He was supposed to phone at the end of last week to confirm this but didn't and this morning when Ann phoned him, his phone was switched off. So she sent him a text and at 3pm this afternoon he phoned us back and said he couldn't make it. And although he was happy to come at another time to give us a quote he was fully booked up until the last two weeks before Christmas.  Grrr..............

So that's it Blippers......................... Lovely walk and lunch with Harebrain.................... But stressful time once we got home.

On the plus side; Ann has just been to Tescos and bought six bottles of wine – 25% off. Yay! So she's going to crack open a bottle and sit in her hanging egg chair. As for me................. I'm already chillaxing on the sun terrace.

Happy Monday evening peeps
