Fungus

I found this beautifully formed fungus on the bend in the trunk of a huge red gum by the river.  Proportionally I know this looks like a macro, but in fact the red gum is enormous and the fungus is the size of a large dinner plate.  Someone mentioned the name "bread fungus" as it was referred to by the indigenous people but I cannot find any reference to it on the web.  It certainly looks a bit like a big loaf of bread.
