Why did the slow worm cross the road?

This one was rather overawed by the vibrations of 17 pairs of boots approaching and stayed motionless for over 5 minutes. We were on an "away day", walking from Wooler. It was sunny all day. There was no rain. Hooray.

After the walk we went over to Belford to M and B's house and wolfed down delicately ate scones and cakes. What a great day. No mud either.
