Edit: Large Red Damselfly

M headed off to the Deep South this morning (even further than deep down Staines!) I have since heard that she's arrived in Bristol safe and sound.
I went off on a wee expedition to the Red Moss, hoping for dragonflies.
This is Sympetrum striolatum if I'm not mistook. [Edit: I was mistook; it's Pyrrhosoma nymphula] It was a bit overcast, so there wasn't much activity. I also came across a fly, Tachina grossa (see extra) I'm amazed not to have noticed one of these before, it's the size of a bumblebee! I love his yellow ruff :)
