Healy Pass

Beautiful drive from Bantry to Ventry (on the Dingle Peninsula) today - via the stunning Healy Pass.  I'd gone through here with my parents about 25 years ago and have wanted to re-visit it ever since.  As with most things from your childhood (well, teen-hood), it was a little smaller than I remembered, but just as beautiful.

We also stopped at Inch Strand on the Dingle Peninsula - a huge great beach, with sand so compacted that several cars were parked up on it, and there were even a couple driving along the length of the beach - quite a sight.  It was beautiful, and had some really impressive dunes, too.

Carried on to our B&B in a very sunny Ventry after that.  Really luxurious room, and stunning views out of the window.  We had a short walk down on the beach, and later on went for a really delicious meal at The Skipper restaurant down the road, followed by a couple of pints at Quinn's Pub.  Live Irish music in there, too - lovely :)
