Rose Theatre

It was a tiresome and rather frustrating day until I left for the concert in Edinburgh about 3:30.

Until then lunch was the highlight. I made briam for the first time, thanks to Blipper Tivoli and the recipe she Blipped about last week. It was delicious and really easy. A good one for vegetarians and vegans too.

The concert was great. The best £13.50 I’ve spent on something like that for ages. The venue was the Rose Theatre - a new one for me, but then news from Edinburgh’s highbrow culture scene doesn’t find it’s way over to redneck Fife so easily.

Some Googling when I got home confirmed the obvious - it used to be a church. Danish dancer Peter Schaufuss (former artistic director at English National Ballet, Deutsche Oper Ballet and the Royal Danish Ballet) bought it last year and “is converting it” according to its website. They’re confident it will be ready by August. Rightly so, as it was ready tonight.

The Feetwarmers’ website lists their recent and future gigs. They’ve just finished a week in Tirana (Albania) playing every night at the US Embassy. Intriguing. Ireland next.

The Blip is the theatre before the foot tapping started.
