Loch Arkaig

Its funny I am clearly preoccupied by hills. It frustrates me immensely if I am standing somewhere high which should command a good view to other hills but all I can see is their lower flanks sweeping out below the mist.

This picture, despite being pointed at the curtained Grey Corries is more about the changing hillside grass at this time of year. There is a particular, minature rush like, variety that grows in small clumps. Its everywhere here. In summer it is all green and come September it goes brown at the tips first then the orange tinge works its way down the full length of the stem.

It was a right "dreich" day. The rain was never bad enough to make you think "that's heavy" but suffice to say by the time we plodded down off the hill the feet and legs were soaking.
