Thank You For the Days ..

A Good Doer

At  RHS Wisley a couple of years ago, it was raining in torrents and we were force to retreat into the shop. Of course we came out with a little souvenir, and it has grown into one of my favourite plants in our garden.

An English Rose called 'Wollerton Old Hall' , I was doubtful that it would thrive in our northern climate, but I'm very happy to have been proved wrong.

It has a gorgeous musky scent, not many thorns and  is climbing sturdily up the wall by the dining room doors. Best of all, it goes on flowering all season. This little group includes the bud, the open flower and one that has reached the full-blown stage.

It is a bright spot in a dull, chilly, damp 'summer' day.

Many thanks to Biker Bear for continued hosting  of Flower Friday!
