Ferry to Bute on a stormy morning

When I crossed over the Bute this morning  on the "wee" ferry - the one from Colintraive to Rhubodach - it was windy and spitting rain.   However driving into Rothesay the weather deteriorated and the heavy clouds over the bay were reflected in a very dark sea.  The ferry from Wemyss Bay was just visible between dark and dark because the Ayrshire coast was illuminated behind it.

My extra picture bookends the day - it was taken leaving Inver last night after another superb, imaginative and innovative meal greatly enjoyed with friends and it looks towards "new" Castle Lachlan at the head of the little loch.

A different type of dark - peaceful and gentle.   Replete even !
