2 more chairs...

Last June Karen Beaton, Cathleen's niece , got married  on her home island of Skye and I blipped the occasion with a picture of Flora Beaton (Karen's grandmother) and her sister seated in the drive the Skeabost House Hotel , waiting for the photographs to be taken and  being bothered by clouds of midges as were the rest of us.

Karen's sister Katie was married today in Glasgow but it was drizzle, not midges, that was the problem.   Two seats though , feature  again in my blip which is of the Beaton family with John , Katie's new husband as well as Adam who married Karen last year and their 7 week old daughter.  They had come all the way from Australia.

Flora is in one of the chairs  but this time the other one is occupied by Angus, Karen's father, who tripped when out gathering sheep last week and broke his ankle.  As a result he accompanied his daughter down the aisle on crutches, but did fantastically well even if he had to be seated for the pictures.

My extra  photos are from the wedding too - Cathleen, Cailean and I with Cathleen's brother Johnny and his wife Sandra outside the church, which was Sherbrooke St Giles in Glasgow's southside.  The second is a detail of the window in the Pollokshields Burgh Hall where the reception was held - a lovely little venue with an amazingly decorated main hall full of masonic architectural detail and with  some interesting words prominent in the stained glass .  They appear to refer to the  motto of the Maxwell family as well as to a poem by Dunbar but it is a good thought whatever the origin .   Do good without delay...

PS:  There are now some more pictures of the day on my Flickr site.
