Islay Trip Day Six

Back Blipped on 24th July 2017

All good things come to an end, and this was both the end of our island adventure and the end of the good weather. Rather a splendid move by the weather gods if you ask me. I think this was about four in the morning, and the rain was battering the windows. With a little fiddling I managed to focus past most of the raindrops to the view beyond...

You can see here the main curve of Port Ellen from our bed and breakfast, close by the harbour. The tide's in. It looks like the local Co-op is already open, and perhaps that's because of a tidal economy and the fishing boats going out. In the bottom left is the heron that I photographed catching quite a decent meal later in the morning.

What a fab few days! And now of course the return trip. It's lashing sideways rain outside, but we only have to ride the bikes about 500 metres to get them to the boarding ramp of the ferry. Later, there will be a ride to the Kelpies, but I took so many shots I have yet to even begin to analyse them. Flickr will be your friend for whatever eventually comes out.

Thank you, Islay, for a wonderful time.
