Just a little tidal creek

This is so typical New Zealand which is littered with tidal creeks. They allow for water run off after heavy rains. They give the tide somewhere to push up on exceptional high tides like today. There is plant life, bird life and insect life and it is a place for whitebait/inanga to spawn.

On the hill in the distance is part of the local Refuse Station, in other words- The Dump. In fact where I was standing was dump at one stage but nowadays they control them with the environment in mind and most rubbish is carted away to another location and only green waste is composted and buried here. There is also a recycle centre close by.

Very springlike weather today. It got quite warm when I was out in the garden breaking up and replanting some hostas.
