Kilmodan Church, Clachan of Glendaruel

The mist was rising as I drove past the Clachan of Glendaruel this morning. I glimpsed the Kirk just as I passed the turn off, and had to go back and find a spot where I could safely take the picture.

Kilmodan Kirk is a wonderful 18th century building, and the graveyard has some amazing stones.

Colin MacLaurin, the mathematician, was born here when his father was Minister.

There are galleries for a variety of local Campbells including Coin Cambell, the hero of Lucknow who married into a local family and whose former esttate still has standing (though somewhat decript) a copy of the gate at Lucknow in commemoration.
