Weed?

A weed is just a wild flower in the wrong place. Well this is in the wrong place, but is it a weed? With all the very dry weather we had it's been a while since I cut my lawn. The recent rain has started the grass growing but it has also brought out several small violas. I had some as bedding plants last year but haven't got any this year, so I can only assume they have self-seeded and have been waiting for the right time to sprout. I'll give them a few days as it's likely to be wet over the weekend but then the mower is coming out.
