Community Garden Avoch

This is the little Community Garden in Avoch. Some of the plants have been donated and planted by the residents and others donated by Munro's Nurseries in Munlochy and although it's still really new the plants are starting to establish and it's looking very colourful. There's a lovely mosaic that shows the Silver Darlings, fisherwomen who used to gut the herring that were fished in the Moray Firth and brought into the harbour in Avoch. This was funded by a local Fisherman who wanted awareness raised of the valuable contribution of the women in the fishing industry .
Four more mosaics have now been added to the Mosaic trail throughout the Black Isle.
