Cromarty Gala

We went to the Cromarty Gala finale. We found a spot in front of the Antique shop and waited. At 12 o'clock the parade started led by a single Bagpipe player. Great timing as just as they came up the hill the 12.01 Cromarty  double decker bus was coming the other way down the narrow High Street. Surprised they had not looked at the time table and waited just 15 minutes for it to turn round and go. It managed to pull into a space once another car had reversed and done a three point.
There were four floats all very well decorated. The winner was a float of seagulls, very clever and cute as they were all children and they making seagull cries. It was funny seeing them dressed up afterwards tucking into hot dogs. Unfortunately the heavens really opened and it was torrential rain for the next 15 minutes. David and myself managed to shelter in a tent and Mike under a tree with his cup of tea.
We went down to the shore and watched the yacht race in the sunshine.
Back home to cut the grass and bushes and tidy up.
