Punch It, Chewie

Today is Jessica's last day with us. So sad. But it was a very special day. Arthur and I went with Jessica to Kobe Animal Kingdom, always a wonderful place to visit. Jessica held a toucan, fed a tapir and a capybara, and stroked a kangaroo. We watched in amazement as a sloth climbed along the branch of tree about five centimeters away from us with no bars or glass between us (see the extra); a very rare sight indeed. We stroked a parrot, watched pelicans repeatedly fly and land in a river, watched eagles and owls fly mere centimeters above our hands. Just brilliant.

Arthur was chosen to appear in the dog show and he got to touch the funnybone of a sheep to make its leg spring up. As a prize, he was given some of the sheep's wool. I was made up because I rode on a camel for the first time. Her name is An-chan.

Interesting to look back on a previous visit to Kobe Animal Kingdom when we made it onto the TV news and newspapers.
