Engaged in technology

And engaged to Dan in real life.  :)
Krista was picking up some things for the engagement party late yesterday morning.  After she loaded things in her car, it wouldn't start, so R and I rushed over to where she was parked, called G and J to meet us there, and R manoeuvred her car close enough to connect jumper cables to try to start it.  No luck.  Krista didn't have her BCAA card with her, but luckily R was able to use hers and convince the person to send a tow truck to take the car to the dealership after R explained that it was the day of Krista's engagement party and she couldn't hang around for the hour and a half that it was going to take for the tow truck to arrive.  Phew!  G and J stayed with the car, and Krista, R and I headed to the property to get the decorations finished.  After a bit of a stressful start to the day, things worked out and there were no other wrinkles in the day.  We were thankful for technology that made it easy for Krista to reach us and help out!
Today we took R and J out for breakfast before we went to pick up Krista's car.  G and I went to pick up a few things then the rest of the day was quite relaxing.  Kalyn was off to volleyball early in the morning and not due home until suppertime.  Krista came over and we visited with her, then she and I had some time together before she went to meet Dan.  He went golfing and then they were off to celebrate his birthday with friends.  After supper, we watched the opening ceremonies of the Canada Summer Games that J had recorded.  So exciting that Kalyn and her team are heading to Winnipeg next weekend to compete in the games, and they'll be part of the closing ceremonies.
