Enjoying the views

We had a reservation on the 10:10 am ferry and left R's early because the main ferry had broken down and we knew there might be some problems.  When we arrived at the terminal, there were 2 workers directing the Gulf Islands traffic. They asked if we had a reservation and we said that we did on the 10:10.  They told us that we might be able to make the 9:10, and extra sailing that had been added.  We did!  Bonus:  it was the brand new Salish Eagle, and it was a direct sailing to Salt Spring!  So instead of the usual approximately 3 hour ferry trip on a much smaller ferry, we arrived on the island in an hour and a half, did some shopping, and were home much earlier than we would have been.
The new ferry is quite nice and has some outside decks where passengers can enjoy the views as it makes its way through the island.  We spent some time outside and enjoyed the views ourselves.
Tomorrow we're heading to Vancouver Island.  I'll try to catch up with comments soon.  Thanks for the comments and stars on the engaged couple!  :)
