Rockpooling

I'm not 'child friendly', but I did enjoy seeing all the kids out with their parents exploring the rockpools at West Runton this morning. In Milton Keynes, they'd be more likely to be trudging round the shopping centre! It's so good to see nature events for the kids and programmes like SpringWatch grabbing their attention. Please also see the Extra for summer school for Cormorants (both are best seen large).

This is what they might find according to the Seaview cafe website: "The rock pools at West Runton are inhabited by many species including serrated wrack, edible winkle, shore crab, common prawn and beadlet anemone, black squat lobsters, long-spined sea-scorpions, velvet swimming crabs ,common hermit crabs and many more critters. The best time to visit the rock-pools is on a retreating tide (at least three hours after high water)".

Thanks to Cailleach for hosting the Wild Wednesday challenge.
