Sealife Centre

We've had a fabulous day with Miss T and Baby C at the Sealife Centre in Birmingham.
I've never been that fussed about going to aquariums. Just looking at a load of fish in tanks!!
But it was amazing!
We went to Miss T's mum's house first to pick up Miss T and Baby C. I had packed a lunch for the Little Misses but left it on our dining room table along with my purse!! Miss T kindly gave them a delicious lunch of cheese puffs from M&S (the best cheese puffs I've ever tasted!!), ham, cheese and bananas and custard.
Then we drove into Birmingham and into the Sealife Centre. It was brilliant! Miss E is still unwavering in her desire to be a marine biologist and she was giddy to see so much marine biology in one place!
We saw penguins, touched starfish, watched stingrays having jacuzzis in the bubbles, spotted otters, crawled through underwater tunnels and
There was a 4D cinema showing The Octonauts and the Lost City of the Amazon which was fantastic - we were sprayed with water, smelt the jungle, our seats juddered when the boats crashed, and fizzed with electric eel shocks. It was ace!!!!
I miss Octonauts!
One of the highlights was walking through the glass aquarium. The giant turtle glided out of the gloom and headed straight for Miss E. It swam right up to her and seemed to hover there watching her. Incredible!
And there were sharks and so many beautiful fish. I loved it!
Baby C was so sweet. She loved looking at all the fish and particularly enjoyed crawling around on the floor after Miss E and Miss L in the schools room at the end.
It's so lovely seeing them playing. Miss T and I met twenty years ago almost to the day and now we have three beautiful daughters. It made me quite emotional seeing them all together!
After long deliberations in the shop over which turtle souvenir to buy we headed back to the car. Four hours and two minutes. Two minutes which cost us £4. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!
Then it was back to Miss T's to drop her off and say goodbye. We didn't go in as there were lots of her family arriving and we didn't want to be in the way. I hate saying goodbye to Miss T.
As usual we called in to the Welcome Break on the M42. You'd think it was Alton Towers the Little Misses get so excited about going there!!! Olives, chicken drumsticks and an ice cream for Miss L; a Waitrose kids picnic and a Krispy Kreme donut for Miss E; a cup of tea for me, and half an hour out on the climbing frame. It was perfect!!
Another lovely holiday day!
