Bloom

The start of the Festival! The 70th. So, it was up town in traditional torrential downpours  to George Square for our first show - the Guilty Feminist with Deborah Frances-White. I didn’t know her stuff at all - but the first twenty minutes was totally hilarious - especially after Mae Martin joined the set. Sadly it didn’t quite keep that level, but it was still a great start. And it was packed with young people! Like, I mean, I was old. Very very old.
Then onward, via an eat in a very busy Outsider, down to St Andrew Square for Bloom - as the Festival was established to provide a platform for the flowering of the human spirit, y’see. Not quite up to last year’s opening bash, but not bad for free, eh? Well, if you’ve a Standard Life policy you’ll actually have paid for it, so thanks for that.
