Storm Ahead

Out on the water - here we are fetching the workboat from the west harbour. The weather was a bit threatening at that point and indeed there were huge downpours from time to time. We lifted the first sinker from the slip and the harbourgruppenfuhrer on the helm managed to foul the prop on another sinker's rope. Oh, the swearing. The rage!! All with no object - it was nobody's fault but his. He shouted at us all to go home. Everything was up shit creek. Everything! The four of us did our best to look concerned and tried not to catch his eye. In case we burst out laughing. For years he's slagged off 'idiots' who regularly wrap the prop. Ahem. No sniggering at the back there!
Eventually we cut ourselves free and got back to work. And the sun came out.
Later, after a visit to kitty, there was a meeting of the pensioner group at the Guildford. One of our number is in a fringe show at the Pear Tree so we arranged a viewing. Not that I'd ever say, any excuse. It might actually be OK. Though I doubt it.
