Almost Ready

A lovely bright fresh morning - so an early walk beckoned. The wheat crops are ripening nicely and turning their ears down - it won’t be long now until the combines are trundling along hoovering it up.

A busy day at the studio with a steady stream of customers. :-)

I noticed that one of the customer’s cars tyre was almost flat, as she pulled up at the studio, which she was unaware of. We looked in the boot for a spare - but all there was was a bottle of sealant and a pump! Anyway she called the AA and they were promptly there. The patrolman said he was glad that we hadn’t used the sealant as it would have meant that the tyre couldn’t have a permanent fix applied and a new tyre would be needed. Something to do with the residues from the sealant affecting the vulcanising process. He was able to fix the hole with a temporary plug so they could get to a garage for a proper repair. Something new learned.

EDIT UPDATE: Driving home I passed a tractor with a trailer full of wheat - so I drove round past the field where I took the main shot and lo and behold the combine was there - see extra. So it was ready to harvest...
