Schlumbergera 'Christmas Cactus'

It has been a really warm day for this time of year. One report said it was 20c.

It has been a day of sorting things in the garage. And doing a few things in the garden. John shifted a lot of blocks from the garden. The last people had put them on the garden to cut down on the gardening. Silvester needs some ground to scratch around in... talking of Silvester, he was a naughty puss again last night and I didn't get much sleep after 4am. He decided to scratch at the bedroom door and it was open enough for him.. and then in other places too. Just seemed to want to cause mischief. He didn't meow this time! Once I am wide awake it is hard for me to get back to sleep again.

I got some bad news not long ago.. my oldest boy is in hospital. He fall about 2m from a cherry picker. He is a painter and has broken his ankle in two places. We are going up to see him in soon.

This Christmas Cactus is outside and seems to have survived the heavy frosts. It is in a sheltered area. It doesn't have a lot of flowers because of the neglect.

Up date on my son.. He is waiting to have operation to pin his ankle. It maybe done tomorrow.. So it's waiting. The cherry picker he was on malfunctioned and he was getting it down when it catapulted to the ground with him it in.
