Three in a Wheatfield

If we're not careful we end up just sitting around all day doing very little so after lunch I bundled the Little Misses out of the house for a walk. They were surprisingly willing and the threatened downpour added to their enthusiasm!
We took some pots with us and they picked loads of blackberries which are ready surprisingly early.
They'd picked some yesterday when they went out on a walk with Mr K and when they got home they mushed it up with sugar and enjoyed eating their purple messy mush.
I told them if they were in a  posh restaurant they'd call it compote.
I had to laugh when we were picking blackberries this afternoon. As I was chatting to a woman about her puppy Miss E called out to me and asked if the amount she had in her tub was enough for their compote.
It doesn't sound at all funny but it made me laugh - it was like those funny Facebook links you see about Things overheard in Waitrose. Middle class children out picking fruit!!
From the blackberries we went on a new walk I've discovered leading off from the playing field near us. It leads round this wheatfield and then into a field full of giant corn. The Little Misses immediately set off of an explore with Archie and were gone for so long that I was to starting to panic about never seeing them again!!
They made it back eventually very excited at having been lost in such a remote wilderness.
So excited in fact that they disappeared off again!! (see extras)
More blackberry picking and them home to guilt free snack eating, TV viewing and computer game playing.
And compote making!!
