Open Doors Day

The ceiling of the hall of Trinity House in the Kirkgate, Leith.

Nice, ain't it? ;)

We popped into a couple of our local buildings which were taking part in the Open Doors scheme. Trinity House (which was the organisation that organised Lighthouses, navigation and piloting) is full of fascinating objects, but it was the ceiling that really caught my attention.
We also went round S Leith Parish Kirk with its magnificent Hammer-beam roof, and the restored Lamb's House. They have done a cracking job in the latter, but photography not allowed :(
