Yellow and boats

The road along Loch Striven is always ahead of the rest of the area in terms of the seasons. Facing south, it has the new growth of spring weeks ahead of Dunoon, and this afternoon there were signs that autumn is on the way. These bright yellow jobs, however, were in full fling, and demanded to occupy the foreground of this photo of the loch and the two sleek sailing boats anchored offshore at the old schoolhouse. The sun only came out very briefly, but it was warm and pleasant - although we kept having to leap onto the verge for the cars that came along, only to turn at the road's end and come back again.

And then there were the pheasants, dithering ...
