A time for everything

Shawnee Lookout

Sunday
A rather gloomy day today. After lunch we drove across to the west side of the city to Shawnee Lookout, one of the Hamilton County Parks. It sits on the Western border of Ohio with Indiana. We don't go there very often - we remember the last time we went was with Laura shortly before she left for her service with the Peace Corps in Macedonia. It was trying to drizzle, but since we were under cover of trees most of the time, we hardly noticed. There's a couple of good view points over the Ohio River valley, this being one of them. The blue bridge is the I-275 (Cincinnati circular interstate) bridge across the Ohio river, the black one, a railway bridge over the Great Miami river, which lies hidden beneath the trees, and flows into the Ohio.
