Lyme Regis

BB was up at the crack of dawn.  TT and I each went for a run at a more civilised time.  After packing up a picnic we decided to head to Lyme Regis.  We had visited last year and had spent a lovely day there.  It was much closer to us this year and in fact it was even closer than we thought.  After struggling to find somewhere to park, we eventually found a car park which we must have already driven past!

The cloud had become thicker, but it was still very warm.  We headed along towards the beach and had our picnic in the gardens.  BB and TT went to play crazy golf and I went for a wander and came back to meet them.

The sun re-appeared, so we then all went for a wander, and a walk down the main street.  BB had holiday money burning a hole in his pocket, but didn’t spend a penny!  We explore a couple of back streets, and then headed back to the shingle beach as BB wanted to go paddling.  We spent a while on the beach until we felt a few spots of rain.  We packed up and wandered a bit, sheltering in a few shops, in the hope that it wouldn’t come to anything.  It didn’t, so we wandered up to the harbour.  BB got an ice cream and wandered back along the beach without a care in his own wee world.  As the tide was going out, we walked along to the beach where you can find fossils, and went fossil hunting (we were unsuccessful), before heading back to the car.

A lovely day spent in a lovely seaside town.
