Goodbye Monmouth

We checked out of our Airbnb accommodation this morning, but before heading our separate ways home we went for coffee. En route we looked for Nelson's garden (he had tea there once), we found it eventually tucked away off a back street but the notice said it was only open on Fridays from 12-3.

Monmouth has three favourite sons, only one of whom was born here, Henry V. The other two are Nelson, who visited three times, and Charles Rolls, aviator and automobile pioneer. For some reason there is no statue of Nelson, though there is a dedicated museum, but the other two have pride of place at the town hall.

So after a drink we journeyed home, happy we had seen Monmouthshire.
