Cousins at the Farm

We had a lovely day today with Mrs L, Miss M and Mr T at the Green Dragon Eco Farm.
Give or take a few strops (from my two rather than Miss M or Miss T) it was a really lovely day. They bounced on the giant bouncy pillow, ate their picnic, played in the sandpit, made friends with a few other kids in the sandpit and found a lizard (see extras) After mauling it and fighting over it looking at it for about half an hour they sensibly decided that it probably wasn't the best idea to put it back where they'd found it in the sandpit but find someone from the farm to take care of it.
The woman said it was actually a newt and she took it from them and they went with her to put it into the pond.
The Little Misses were relieved it was in a safe place.
Inexplicably the older boy they'd made friends with decided that it wasn't safe in the pond because the ducks would eat it!!!
Obviously ducks round his way are rampant carnivores!
So he mauled it a bit more and - even more inexplicably - his mum started looking for a tub to put it in.
The Little Misses were not impressed and kept going over to stick their two penn'orth in and the mum looked cross at the irritating girls butting in.
In the end I called the Little Misses back and told them to just let them get on with it.
There was a bit more playing in the sand, bouncing on the pillow and climbing on the climbing frames before heading into the barn to see some cute baby goats, lambs, and a giant pregnant pig due to give birth today. Any minute now by the looks of it!  Last time she had nineteen piglets!!
We went into a shed with tarantulas, locusts, chameleons, giant millipedes, giant lizards, stick insects, hedgehogs and snakes. Nice!!
There was a petting session with a ferret which was cute but stank to high heaven, and a grey rabbit which was just cute.
There was also a man wearing the most bizarre get up of preppy sweater, checked shorts and clearly hardly worn Hunter wellies. We decided he was obviously from London!!!
Mrs L, Miss M and I couldn't help but laugh at him and had to step outside because we were getting a bit hysterical.
But not as hysterical as we got hearing the weird scream-roar-strangled-sneeze noise bellowing out from the room as we stood outside.
It was probably him. Allergic to his wellies!!!!
Miss E met the boy from the sandpit while in there and apparently they'd put the newt into a pond without any ducks in. Phew!
A walk round the donkeys, chickens, Shetland ponies and giant rabbits then it was back into the shed to see if the pig was making any progress. She was laying on the floor panting and poohing (ahhhh, happy memories!!) but no piglets yet.
It started chucking it down as they had a last play in the park but it didn't really matter as they were soaked anyway from sliding off the bouncy pillow into sand puddles!!
Home to a lazy evening watching Masterchef. We know how to live!!
