Barbie Girl

She was loving it; just totally absorbed in feeding up. I too was loving it as it meant initially I had got my quarry in the first 200 yards, she was in good condition, she was unexpected as I hadn't got high hopes and it was another tick in the box on species.

A female Wood White butterfly. I know it's a female as the males have much more pronounced dark forewing tips which you can see in my Extra. The courtship is fascinating to see as he gently strokes her antennae after extending his proboscis. Unfortunately they didn't like me there so I didn't get this far.
