Seatown

It was quite a nice morning, but the weather forecast wasn’t great.  A&M had recommended a walk up Golden Cap – so we set off with a picnic to Seatown.  We had just parked the car, when the heavens opened.  The rain was torrential  - we couldn’t even get out of the car to get the picnic, as we would have been soaked.  Once it had gone off TT ventured to get the picnic and yet gain we had our picnic in the car – a real theme of this holiday.

We decided to risk going for our walk.  I decided to put on my brand new walking shoes.  We had barely gone any distance and the route took us through a wheat field. There was  bona fide path – but it was just mud – my brand new shoes were well and truly christened.  The rest of our ascent was less waterlogged and we gained height quickly with views along the coast and inland across a patchwork of fields.  Even though it was a grim day it was very warm, so we were soon removing our waterproofs.  We continued over Golden Cap to St Gabriels and on to Langdon Hill.  We were almost back at our destination when the path became impassable – it was flooded.  We couldn’t really retrace our steps so had to wade through – so much for my shoes.

Once we got back to Seatown, we pottered at the beach and TT went paddling to wash his feet and legs,  before heading for home.

Once we were cleaned up, we went to try out our local Indian restaurant. We had a lovely meal – even TT who had the oddest starter ever.  On the menu it sounded like a curried Scotch egg.  This is not what was presented to him by the chef.  He ate it though.  We had a wander round by the church in the evening sunshine, before getting BB in bed and settling down for another episode of Cracker.

This boat was on the beach at Seatown.  The extra shows BB and TT heading down Golden Cap with Charmouth and Lyme Regis in the distance.
