A Back View

I expect this view of the back of the High Street with St Giles Cathedral ever dominant is part of what attracts droves of tourists to Edinburgh like moths to a flame.........well that and the Festivals.
It was the view I saw as we waited oh so patiently for the green man to let us cross Princes Street after an M&S meal for 2 offer with wine thrown in was safely stowed in the bag.

We set off from the Dower House in the aftermath of an epic shower and it felt, as we negotiated our way into town, like walking through a sauna, it was so close and muggy, the more so as we were encased in wet weather gear.

I have to say it was quite gratifying to see several cases being dragged in the direction of the station and hopefully after the English Bank Holiday this weekend, life will become a little less crowded in our neck of the woods.

His Lordship's knees are happy to announce to all their well wishers that they have been advised not to go under the knife again for the present but also disappointed that they have to man up to a future of arthritis induced pain. They thank you for your concern
