Another day, another flower...

...and another insect!

Dear Diary,

The Helenium and sedum are just starting to bloom and I think it is the bee's favorite time of year.  I've counted as many as six bees on one sedum flower and every helenium flower had its own bee.  I didn't have to go very far from my back door to get this photograph and the bee was oblivious to the camera's lens just inches away.

The garden is definitely winding down now.  After Matt cut back so much on Wednesday it is looking a bit sparse to say the least.  But there are still the asters to look forward to and the sedum, helenium and grasses...plenty of photographic opportunities to come.
