An ordinary life....

Lola...

It's International Dog day today so I have an excuse for blipping Lola.  Not sure what my excuse will be for the rest of the week :-)

This is her watching David.  She adores him.  She bounces around after him whenever he moves and when he stands still, she promptly sit down and looks up at him expectantly.  So cute!

Lola had a better night than we expected.  D stayed downstairs with her and slept on the sofa.  She went into her crate and fell asleep no problem.   We closed the door but didn't lock it.  D woke at 2am to find her asleep on the floor next to the sofa where he was sleeping.

He took her outside to do her business.  Peed when she came back in.   Back into crate and slept. D locked the door this time.  I woke at 5.30 with her crying and yelping. Back out the crate for a pee, back in crate. Door closed.  Yelping again.  D sat beside the crate but didn't engage with her.  She fell asleep and he woke up an hour later lying on the hard floor, Lola all cosy in her crate.  She's not daft :-)  D moved back to the sofa, woke up an hour later and she was back asleep on the floor beside him,

The pair of them ended up conked out all morning with D is still wearing yesterday's clothes.  We finally had lunch at 3pm!  (Lola had been fed twice by that point!) She's going to be good for my diet!

She's been a complete joy today.  Alan loves her.  He couldn't wait to spend time with her in the garden.  I think the photo in extra says it all :-)  She's been playful, loving, hilarious (chasing Jenny Long-legs) inquisitive and so quick to pick things up.  I think if we are not careful she will literally run rings round us!

She hasn't been interested in sleeping in her crate during the day but straight after her supper and pit stop, she came in and went straight to her crate.  She's had one other pit stop since and is now snuggled and settled in her crate.  Just need to close the door now.

Hosting a lunch for 26 tomorrow.  Will be extra interesting now Lola is here.  She wasn't in the picture when it was originally organised.  Good for her socialisation though.  Not that she needs much socialising as Carole made sure the puppies had lots of visitors and interesting experiences.

The last of the puppies went to their forever homes today, leaving Carole with her lovely Goldens Mia and Lily (the mum of the litter) and puppy Freya, who she's keeping.  A sad day for her but no doubt a relief as well.  We are knackered after one night with one, how she's managed 8 weeks with nine I will never know.  She is a very special lady indeed.

PS This is a blurry iPhone shot.  I have taken photos on the big camera but not had a minute to upload or process them.  It might be a while before I do! :-))
