A Quieter Day

Notebook - After yesterday, a quieter sort of day.

First went to Bridge House Art and after dropping off Apothecary7 I met Peter White (artist and husband of Eleanor the owner). While we were blethering Eleanor appeared and told me where our painting was waiting to be picked up.

While on holiday in Glencoe in June we had made a day trip to Ullapool to see an exhibition in The Ceilidh Place by Eleanor White and Joanna Wright (another Ullapool artist who we know through Bridge House Art and a week we had painting on the Summer Isle of Tanera Mor). We had bought a painting by Eleanor. As usual in exhibitions the paintings are collected or shipped after the exhibition ends. Eleanor had taken ours home for us to collect this week. Handy. I took the painting back to our holiday house.

Then I walked along to West Terrace to see if the ferry was in sight. It was just coming through the Summer Isles. I waited for it to get closer then wandered down to the harbour and along to the point to get a view of it turning into the harbour area after its approach through Loch Broom.

I went to the Outdoors Shop to buy a pair of walking boots. They always have a Summer offer.
Then it was to The Ceilidh Place for coffee, a scone, and a read of a newspaper or two.

Then I went to Ardmair. There were a few showers but it was mostly fine and bright. The light on Ben Mor Coigach changed all the time. I sent the rest of the day there.
