Common lizard

I nearly stepped on this lizard on Briantspuddle Heath and wondered why it didn't run away. Looking at the photo I think I can see why - its head is still covered in the old skin, which hasn't been fully shed yet, so its eyes were clouded over and it couldn't see properly. It did scuttle away when the camera got about 5 cm away from it!
