Not a Selfie (2)

A day at home, hacking away at the 'garden'. Punctuated by trying to learn how to do sashiko, a kind of Japanese hand stitching. It looks easy - but I'm  struggling. If I unpick it much more the fabric will disintegrate. I am very frustrated.  

The picture is from the vegetable garden. It's a cardoon. Totally inedible, I find, but we like the way they look, sort of primitive.  Like a thistle that has been electrocuted? Though why would anyone want to electrocute a thistle??

I hope it will do for WildWed, though I don't know which is wilder, the cardoon, or me.
