A time for everything

Walton Hall Gardens

Monday
A sunny warm Bank Holiday Monday - whatever next?! Roger, Jen and I spent much of the morning round at Roger's Dad's - picking plums and cutting the trees back. He has had such a bumper crop this year, several of the branches have been so weighed down by fruit that they have broken under the strain. Unfortunately he is no longer able to maintain them like he used to, which he finds so frustrating. Towards lunchtime, Bernard went to pick Edna up from the care home again - it was a special day for her today - her 87th Birthday! While we had been busy in Bernard's garden, Janet and John had been fixing us all a delicious Roast Lamb dinner with Bannoffee pie for dessert - we won't talk about the number of calories! After lunch, we left Bernard and Edna to have an afternoon nap, and the rest of us went for a lovely walk in the sunshine along the canal to Walton Hall Gardens, where they had some beautiful and quite striking flower beds.
