Had a culinary disaster yesterday, I decided to make a 'Meat Roll' (my Grandmas between-the-wars/austerity recipe, I've been making it for 40 years so I must have made HUNDREDS of them and never had a failure till this one)......memo to self: next time don't be a lazy hussy when I discover I'm out of tin foil and decide to use cling wrap instead for the initial simmering before it goes in the oven.....no it didn't melt but it just didn't work......result: meat roll to be converted into possible hacked-to-shape meatballs in tomato sauce for dinner tonight, it MIGHT work......otherwise the cats are in for a tea-time treat!
