Walking Wombat

Tiny Tuesday 119

This image is not a macro but it is all about Tiny. Thanks for taking on the roll of host this month Loisbiz :-). These are little baby Waratah seedlings that are growing in our seed house. They are just one of the trays of babies that are being housed at Wombat Hollow. The Blue Mountains Conservation Society were critically short of room and were delighted to know that we had plenty of room in our shed that was specifically built to grow Waratahs from seed. I have added a couple of extra images which shows a) the new barrel bolt that we had placed on the door to the shed so that the seedlings wouldn't be buffeted by the wind and b) one of the shelves with the seed trays sitting happily in their new home. I don't think Sue the co-ordinator could believe it when she opened the door and saw the irrigation already set up. All they had to do was add a hose from our water tank a few metres away.

CCN and I are quite delighted to be babysitting them and we wander over there most days to check them out. Sue comes out regularly as well so they are getting lots of attention. Recently we gave some Waratah seeds to Sue which she has now planted and with any luck we my have some of our own babies to plant in a few months time. It's all very exciting.
