Phone problems

I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with this phone. Whenever I send a text, no-one ever replies. And try as I might, I can't find Google maps. And when I pull open that little drawer at the bottom where all the contacts are stored and tap someone's name nothing happens; it doesn't dial the number. I'd take it back where I got it but I don't know where the nearest GPO Telephones office is.
