Irma

Sitting here at my computer I  have been overwhelmed by fear primarily, the kindness of others and anxiousness that #1 son, Robert, his partner and teacup sized dog are going to be ok. They are in Fort Lauderdale and I've been tracking Irma on every device possible.

Sefferdog has offered for my family to stay with him as he is a little further north in Florida, both he and Jen really are the kindest people going, but at the moment the gas supplies , the traffic and general mayhem are meaning that a shelter near them in Fort Lauderdale is the best solution now at this point. Just hope they find one!

A Category 5 dropping to 4 and set to remain so until Saturday the latest, tho' possibly not now, bulletin, from the Miami-based National Hurricane Center put the winds at 175 MPH with sea-level surges of 25 feet! Watching the complete devastation of the BVI, Turks and Caicos etc it looks horrifying resulting in homelessness and complete catastrophe for people living in these areas.. It's slow churning  passage is quite spooky to watch. To top this, it is followed by Hurricanes Jose and Katia! The pictures of it barrelling forward leaving a wake of utter ruin havoc and wreckage are hideous!

Rob has been drilling up metal shutters on their house, getting water, stocking up with supplies, gas etc. I hope they've got wine and chocolate :)) Joking aside I feel very helpless. They haven't lived there very long in their new house.

A Migrant Hawker and I am calling him Irma. OK I have no issues with that! ;)
