How Hill

G and I had a fabulous today at How Hill House which overlooks beautiful gardens, wetlands, historic windmills, woodlands and the river Ant. Following a quick lunch in the cafe, we went for a circular walk which went by the river and reed beds, via fields, country lanes and some very pretty thatched houses. Then we looked around the beautiful gardens and walked through woodland to the secret garden. We hadn't realised the house was open today to people who had pre-booked through the Heritage Open Days scheme - hopefully next year. And we were so lucky with the weather as heavy showers were predicted but we missed them until we were nearly home. A wonderful day.
