Victoria Harbour

Our guests have arrived safely in Hong Kong and we've been out in town already for a brief look see!

Martin had suggested taking Persis and Chris to the Maritime Museum, which turned out to be a really good idea! We all loved it. So much history of HK and as Chris used to be in the Royal Navy, he found it even more fascinating.

We didn't stay in town too long as visibility and pollution was really bad. Grateful for this photo op from the museum looking out to the Convention cenrte and a junk very conveniently sailing into the harbour. Honestly, sometimes you just happen to be in the right place at the right time. And in some way, the faded sails of the junk suited the muggy, polluted tone of the sky!

Jon called me from Oxford to tell me that he'd had a seizure yesterday! I was absolutely horrified and really upset and so wanted to be there right beside him. Yesterday was moving in day for him and thankfully Ben had gone to help him settle in. They hadn't eaten much, very dehydrated and overheating and I think that's what caused it. The hospital sent him home after a couple of hours. Incredibly thankful for the NHS right now. We are just in shock .
