A rose arose

My sister-in-law bought us this miniature rose many years ago. I don't wish to be unkind, but I suspect it was a supermarket rose in an ornamental tub which was not intended to last much longer than the blooms that were on it at the time. When those blooms died I planted it in a pot and put it outside, and apart from an occasional watering if it got really dry and a sprinkling of fertiliser if I remembered, that's all the care it's had. And yet every year it comes back and produces more flowers. This year it produced some in the Spring and a few weeks ago I thought it was looking a bit rough so cut it right back. And guess what? More flowers.

Maybe I have green fingers after all.
