Goodbye to Maine

On our last day in Portland, Maine, we spent several hours downtown at the 68-acre Eastern Promenade park on Casco Bay, where we visited the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad & Museum and enjoyed a scenic short ride in open air cars along the harbor. I photographed this bee on rugosa roses just like mine during the 10-minute stop to stretch our legs before the little train headed for home.

The weather was perfect, and we enjoyed watching folks walking, biking, and out on the water in a wide range of boats. Many of them waved as the little train went by, and we waved back. We stopped for a drink at our favorite brewpub, Liquid Riot, and later walked to The Little Tap House, another of our favorite local places, for supper. Walking everywhere helped balance the food and drink we enjoyed!

We now have two Portlands that we love, one on each coast!
